The Saunders Medical Foundation was established to strengthen the hospital’s resolve for a continued commitment to quality health care. Every charitable gift through the foundation, regardless of size, makes a tremendous impact on this county’s health care. Saunders Medical Foundation which was incorporated as a non-profit in 1996 is recognized as a qualified charity by the IRS with 501(c)(3) status. A dedicated voluntary Board of Directors oversees the foundation’s resource and fund development, as well as community health initiatives supporting the broad mission of SMC.

Saunders Medical Foundation works confidentially with individual donors to match their charitable wishes with the current and future needs of our region’s health care. In the end, the beneficiaries of this careful planning are the patients who seek care and comfort right here, close to family and home.

For the foundation, the gifting process is a very personal and private matter that receives the highest attention and sensitivity so that donors’ wishes are matched appropriately.
